Whenever I’m writing a story, or hear someone singing a self-written song, or when I see an actor that has taken on a role that really has a deep meaning to them as an artist, there’s always this added little spark to the art itself. Something that truly expresses what that particular person feels and has to say to the rest of the world. It’s subtle, but it’s there, and you can just feel it in your heart. I can’t imagine being able to do that in a physical way like Gavin Morales does with his dancing. It’s really something to see.
To start with, everything that Gavin does is utterly adorable! Hehehe, he’s just so sweet and so charismatic in his his personality that’s almost hard to keep from smiling yourself whenever he talks. But to take that cheerful personality and passion and finding ways to express it with his dancing? That’s something really special.
This Fresno, California native actually began dancing at the tender age of six! I mean, who has life goals when they’re six? I couldn’t even walk around the mall by myself at that age. But he began to dance after watching his sister, McKenzie, perform, and is still growing to become a better and more polished dancer with every new performance.
Now, at fifteen years of age, Gavin Morales is still making waves and performing routines for an amazed audience. He has appeared on Seasons 4 and 5 of the hit TV show, ‘Dance Moms’, and he was a major talent in Season 13 of the reality series ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, after which he moved on to the Candy Apple Dance Studio to continue forward with his career. But Gavin was making waves in the dance world even before any of that happened.
By the time he was nine or ten years old, Gavin’s name was being recognized as one of the next big talents to look out for. And it’s really not hard to see why. To see how well practiced and professional he is. And FLEXIBLE! Jesus! Some of the moves that he pulls off don’t even look humanly possible. Not for anybody with actual bones and ligaments and the like.
Wow…just the grace, the poise, the balance, and the overall control of his body…it’s absolutely mind-boggling to watch this boy work.
See? You’re all happy and grinning now, aren’t you? Hehehe! Awwww, so cute!
Gavin Morales, apart from winning dance recital competitions (In 2013 alone, he won the awards for Mr. Starpower and Mr. National Showbiz’), has also made some guest appearances on TV shows like ‘Cooking It Up With Lulu’ and the NIckelodeon series, ‘See Dad Run’, starring Scott Baio. I have not seen the latter, because…seriously…FUCK Scott Baio!
With his dance performances popping up all over Youtube and inspiring other dancers to give their dreams a shot as well, Gavin has become a role model of sorts in the past year or two. He is currently dancing on stage at ‘The Rage’ in Los Angeles, and bringing his particular brand of emotion filled skill to more audiences than ever before.
He says that he has studied ballet and gymnastics extensively, which is pretty obvious, but Gavin also likes to play soccer and baseball on top of that. I assume that he still goes to a normal high school with the rest of his peers, but he mentioned practicing at least six hours a day, so he may be tutored or home schooled instead. But his raw talent and dedication to his craft shows whenever he takes the stage, and that kind of work deserves the spotlight.
He says that he loves being a ‘boy dancer’ because he’s always surrounded by pretty girls. Hehehe, and nothing has been said about his sexual preference to date…but I wouldn’t be surprised if that idea hasn’t changed a bit since he was ten years old. 😛
Either way, congrats on the success, Gavin! I’m feeling a bit inspired myself right now, to be honest. I can dance like that. I CAN! If only I truly believe I can! Here…watch…
